Hiking In The Wild Carpathians Of Transylvania

Spend a day exploring the wild Transylvanian forests alongside a local guide. We pick you up from Brasov and drive you to Zarnesti at the base of the Carpathian mountains. We start the hike from around 700 meters above sea level and go as high as 1500 meters to the Curmatura hut. From here you have a breathtaking view of the Piatra Craiului mountain. A picnic will be your reward. Traditional Romanian food only! Taste the famous “branza de burduf” made by the locals. Vegetables and fruits are bought from locals. Ham and pork bacon are also homemade! The return hike will be on a different side of the mountain allowing us to complete the loop and pass through the spectacular Zarnesti Gorges!

Route: Brasov -> Cristian -> Rasnov -> Zarnesti  (Hiking starts at the base of the Piatra Craiului mountain. We climb up to 1500 meters. We have our picnic at the Curmatura hut and the return on a different path, through the spectacular Zarnesti Gorges.) -> Brasov.
